Tips When Working With a Commercial Broker:

  • Interview your broker to ensure you want to work with each other.
  • If you are working with a commercial broker who is listing your property, make sure the commission offered out to the brokerage community is a 50/50 split.
  • Sign an exclusive buyer broker representation or an exclusive tenant representation. Your broker will help you compose a letter to the brokerage community - requesting your terms of lease, lease rates, location, zoning, and price of a purchase.
  • Check your brokers marketing plan, with all the available resources these plans should be extensive, and if your are listing available space for sale or lease this is imperative.
